Tetrosyl has bought factor chain Godfrey Automotive Parts Limited for an undisclosed sum, in a deal which will add the £6m turnover business to Tetrosyl’s portfolio. The automotive product manufacturer bought the Godfrey chain just nine days after it had been placed into administration.

After all the deals at this year’s Mechanex event in Sandown had been done, suppliers were let loose to vent their aggressions on the racetrack at the inaugural CAT Karting Challenge. 16 teams lined up on the starting grid to compete in a grueling 90-minute endurance race, with First Line eventually taking the flag.

Garages could make up to £27,360 extra income every year. That’s according to Hofmann, who say that just two 3D wheel alignments per day could net garages an additional income. The garage equipment manufacturer is asking garages to 'unleash the wheel alignment cash cow.'

Franchised dealers have lost servicing work to independents so far in 2011. That’s according to Trend Tracker, who’s latest report suggests franchises are loosing increasing amounts of work to the independent sector.

Unipart Automotive has relaunched its nationwide network of Car Care Centres. The company says garages in its program can benefit from refreshed branding, new signage and a national advertising campaign promoting the network.
