ZF expands CorExpedia platform to unify core returns across all brands

by CAT

ZF Aftermarket has expanded its CorExpedia digital platform to support core returns across its ZF, TRW, SACHS, and WABCO brands.

This expansion unifies reverse logistics for used components across Europe, providing workshops and distributors with a single interface to manage parts returns, the firm said. By digitising a process that is traditionally manual and complex, the platform offers real-time visibility into outstanding cores, shipping requirements, and surcharge refund statuses.

Remanufacturing depends on the consistent return of used parts to maintain production cycles. ZF currently produces more than 7300 remanufactured products across 20 global locations.

The CorExpedia platform acts as the "digital backbone for this supply chain", said the firm, ensuring that materials remain within the circular economy.

Philippe Colpron, Head of ZF Aftermarket, notes that remanufacturing is a core component of the company’s strategy to reduce waste and extend the life cycle of automotive components. He said: "At ZF, Remanufacturing has been part of our DNA for decades, and today it plays a crucial role in reducing waste, conserving resources, and extending product life cycles. With more than 7300 remanufactured products produced across 20 locations worldwide, ZF is proud to be one of the global leaders in circular aftermarket solutions. This commitment drives us every day and Reman Day is a perfect moment to highlight the value and impact of this work."

For aftermarket partners, the platform reduces administrative effort by providing clear instructions on packaging and documentation. Once returned cores are verified at a ZF REMAN facility, the digital workflow accelerates the processing of surcharge refunds. ZF also offers to organize transport and cover associated logistics costs, further simplifying the return chain for its customers.

From an operational standpoint, CorExpedia provides ZF with data on incoming cores, which improves stock management and ensures a reliable supply of components for remanufacturing. This transparency makes the return process more predictable for both the supplier and the customer. By streamlining these logistics, ZF enables workshops and fleets to participate in a circular parts lifecycle with greater efficiency and reduced overhead.
